The Potato Ham cheese Tart is one of my quick and easy savory potato tart recipes perfect for when you have leftover ingredients and don’t know what to do with them. The potato and ham and cheese tart has similar ingredients to the potato and ham puff pastry and the ham and cheese pie, but also includes potatoes in the filling and is really simple and delicious, perfect to cut into squares and eat cold as an appetizer with friends.

Ingredients:

  • 1 round puff pastry (ready rolled)
  • 300 g potatoes (boiled)
  • 100 g cooked ham
  • 100 g scamorza cheese (or another cheese of your choice)
  • 50 g Parmesan cheese

How to make Potato Ham cheese Tart:

  1. Place the potatoes, skins on, in a pan of cold water and bring to the boil. Cook the potatoes until they are cooked and soft, then mash them with a potato masher while they are still hot.
  2. Cut the ham into thin strips.
  3. Cut the scamorza or a cheese of your choice into small cubes.
  4. Put the mashed potatoes in a bowl, then add the ham cut into strips and the diced cheese.
  5. Mix and combine the ingredients.
  6. Take a round puff pastry roll with the baking paper and place it in a pie dish.
  7. Prick the base of the puff pastry with the tines of a fork to prevent it from swelling during baking.
  8. Pour all the filling into the perforated puff pastry and spread well over the puff pastry base.
  9. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the surface of the savory pie filling.
  10. Close the edges of the puff pastry by folding them inwards slightly.
  11. Bake the potato pie with ham and cheese in a preheated, ventilated oven at 200 °C (400°F) for approx. 45 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown and a crust has formed on the surface.
  12. Remove the potato pie with ham and cheese from the oven and wait a few minutes before serving.

Bon Appetit!
