Parisian Muffins are a simple and delicious recipe that can be served as an appetizer, at birthday parties, and buffets. These Parisian Muffins are finger food, tasty bites made with pizza dough, puff pastry, tomato, ham, and cheese. Make a double batch, as they’ll be a hit!
Ingredients:
- 1 roll of puff pastry
- 1 roll of white pizza dough
- 120g (4.5 oz) cooked ham
- 100g (3.5 oz) scamorza cheese
- 150ml (5 fl oz) tomato passata
- Extra virgin olive oil, as needed
- 1 egg, for brushing
How to make Parisian Muffins:
- Roll out the pizza dough and spread it on a work surface. Using a 10cm (4-inch) round cutter, cut out 6 circles.
- Place these circles in a greased muffin tin and fill with scamorza cheese, ham, and tomato passata.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut out 6 circles with a diameter of about 6-7cm (2.5-3 inches). Place these on top of the filled muffins and seal the edges well. Brush the surface with oil.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 25 minutes. Alternatively, you can fry the Parisian Muffins in a deep fryer at 180°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes.
Tips and Storage:
After baking, you can store them in a cake tin until the next day. Alternatively, you can freeze the muffins, but only for a limited time due to the puff pastry. You can re-roll any leftover dough to make additional Parisian Muffins.
Enjoy!
